You have probably noticed a yellow or brown edge around your teeth or molars, an unpleasant taste in your mouth, or bad breath. This increases the likelihood that you are dealing with tartar, plaque, or stains.
How do these problems develop?
Plaque (dental plaque) often forms between the teeth and molars. If you do not remove it, it can eventually turn into tartar, which in turn can lead to gum problems. Tartar can be recognized by a yellow or brown discoloration of the teeth. It forms in areas that are difficult for you to reach yourself.
Tartar is often found just below the gums, behind the teeth, and between the teeth. These areas are sometimes missed during brushing or are difficult to reach with a toothbrush.
You cannot remove tartar by brushing yourself, which is why we clean your teeth in areas you cannot reach on your own.
